The IASP PAIN Editor-in-Chief Search Committee seeks applications for the next Editor-in-Chief of PAIN when Francis J. Keefe, PhD completes his term on Dec. 31, 2022. The Committee will consider applications that discuss other potential structures, including Co-EICs or EIC plus Deputy EIC.
IASP is seeking an individual with a strong record of academic excellence in research on pain. The successful applicant will demonstrate a compelling strategic vision for the journal’s development and differentiation both from IASP’s Open Access journal PAIN Reports and from other reputable journals in the field; outstanding academic achievement; excellent communication skills; a collaborative leadership style; a profound commitment to inclusion, diversity, access, and equity; a clear understanding of trends in scientific journal publishing, including optimizing digital functionality and the deployment of social media channels; an international network of colleagues; and deep editorial experience.
The journal’s 2020 Impact Factor is 6.961, placing it 4th of 33 in Anesthesiology, 23rd of 208 in Clinical Neurology, and 39th of 273 in Neurosciences.
Currently, the Editor-in-Chief is supported by the Section Editors and Associate Editors, as well as the IASP Editorial Office in Washington, DC, comprising the Managing Editor and Assistant Managing Editor. The journal is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (Wolters Kluwer).

- 2 letters of recommendation from your peers that address the your research, medical writing and editorial abilities
